Take a look at our film transfer quality:

one frame at a time is best.

Other companies may try to record video from a film projector, but that doesn’t work. The only way to get a good digital copy from film is to take a digital photo of each frame one-by-one.

Here’s why recording from a film projector is a terrible idea: Film projectors work by holding the film steady for a brief moment, flashing a light through it, and then going dark while it moves the film to the next frame. Our eyes don’t pick up the moments of darkness, but a video camera does. When using a video camera to capture film, the video camera may be capturing the moment that the image is being projected, or the moment when the screen is in darkness. Differences between the frame rate of the projector and the video camera can mean you end up with a recording more of the dark moments between frames than the film images you really want.

Our film transfer process captures a digital image of each and every frame of your film, one at a time. That way you can be sure you’re getting a complete high-quality digital copy.

We wish to acknowledge the land on which we operate. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations. This land is governed by the Dish with one spoon covenant between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Confederacy of Ojibway and Allied Nations. This covenant is an agreement to share, work and protect this land together in harmony. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and live on this land.
